Cammie Basseri writes literary fiction and creative nonfiction about memory, belonging, and the lives that unfold between public narratives and private truths.

Raised off the grid in Yosemite National Park, Basseri’s earliest understanding of the world was shaped by both extraordinary natural beauty and the complexities of an impoverished, remote upbringing. Today, she divides her time between Ireland and the United States, where Irish family, community, and culture have become a defining influence on her work.

She is currently writing a trilogy of literary novels set in Ireland, exploring identity, language, love, and the subtle ways larger systems reshape ordinary lives. Her memoir, It Must Have Been Beautiful, which examines her unconventional childhood growing up in Yosemite, is currently in development.

Basseri’s writing has appeared in The Manifest-Station, The Woolfer, The Rumpus, Half Moon Bay Review, East Bay Times, and other print and online publications.
